Excerpt: A Trip To San Carlos

National Novel Writing Month 2014 “Good, and talk to me about this new project. It’s a lot to take on, what if you want to return home?” “I can’t.” I shrugged. “I took on this project and I have to stay committed. And it’s to help rebuild the city. Did this side of the town get affected?” “Not really, but the city yeah.” “You would think that you guys that were so near the ocean would definitely have gotten affected.” “That’s because of the legend of Carlos the drifter. The town is named after him.” “So, what’s the story?” I asked. “Not tonight.” Grandpa laughed. “You just got here.” The house was a beautiful one floor home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the back it had a hammock hanging by two nearby trees and in the front a deck where they kept two comfortable chairs. The living room was nicely decorated in light blue and white. When I Miss You, I Read This Poem

Today like everyday I miss you. To all of my love ones that have gone, When I miss you, I read this poem: Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. November 2014 Novel Goes Something Like This...

The Trip To San Carlos The Trip To San Carlos tells the story of Alejandra Montalvo, a young lady at the verge of getting married. It is then that she finds out her fiance is cheating and it changes her life forever.  Realizing that she can’t get herself to forgive and forget, she decides to take a business trip to San Carlos where her grandparents live.
