One Scene: I Witnessed

Thinking of developing a story like this one
This is just a scene of what it would look like if I did.

Detective Night spread the pictures of the crime scene on the table. "Do you see a familiar face?"
I swallowed hard. "Am I under arrest?" I didn't think I could hold on anymore. Of course I recognized Annie Summer, my girlfriend in their pictures. But I wasn't about to tell the detective (which happened to be a very attractive woman) one word. What if Annie killed me too?
"You do realize Mr. William that you are lying to me and this could get you in a lot of trouble for example..." There was a knock on the door. The head of the police department Frederick Hamilton poked his head in.
"Detective, can I have word with you?" He glared at me and I quickly looked away. Whatever was outside the window was less frightening. Detective Night however, wouldn't take her eyes off me. My God if looks could kill...
Detective Night stepped out of the interrogation room and closed the door. "Now what? I almost got this guy. Give me just a few more minutes."
"We can't hold him anymore. You know the rules Night. We have absolutely nothing on him. Captain Hamilton explained. “His girlfriend stays but he has to go.”
"Fine." She rolled her eyes.
Detective Night burst through the door and picked up all the pictures. Then she placed them in the folder. "You are one lucky bastard. I'll be watching you Williams."
"I hope so because I want you to see how I tan myself in the roof of my house; completely...”
"Shut up!" She said angrily before storming out of the room.

I followed right behind. Every cop had their eyes on me because I had just pissed off the spoiled brat of the police station. Her father was the captain though they weren't in the best of terms. But despite her very nasty attitude I thought she was beautiful.

I Let Go

When I commit to something, I like to see it through.  I work hard to see it through.   I ignore the signs and I keep pushing even when there's nothing worth fighting for. This year though, I am learning to let go of everything; I mean people, I mean situations, feelings, and anything that doesn't serve me. And I grieve all of this but in a healthy way.  I allow time to be my friend. I give myself words of encouragement. I give my body, food, vitamins, and exercise. I give my brain meditation and therapy. I read. I cry, I talk to my sister, and my friends. I Let Go. It's the best thing I could've done for myself. At the end of the day, is it really worth forcing something that's not meant to be for you?

A Lost Story #NationalNovelWritingMonth2024

I watched a love story, a telenovela, many years ago.  I was maybe between the ages of 5-7 when they played it on TV. Something about that telenovela has lived forever in my mind. I thought that maybe with technology advancing we could see the story again. After years of waiting, I found the director (I love the power of the internet) and he gave me the terrible news that...unfortunately, the story was lost forever.  I may not be able to watch it again, but I would like to write it down in my own words. This is my project for the rest of 2024 and part of NANO WRIMO 2024. What are you writing about for the month of November?
