Excerpt: My Hearts Break

He could hear cries coming from a corner in the library. He had a pretty idea who was crying…Alexandra. She had been in love with Royce for the last two years and they had become best friends with time. Today Royce had just announced that he and Daisy were in a relationship and Alexandra wasn’t taking it pretty well. There was so much she could handle but definitely not this! She had lost her Royce the only guy that she had really loved and cared. He didn’t know whether he should talk to her or just let her cry…crying was good. He sighed before grabbing a book and making his way towards her. Her body was shaking lightly as she sat on the floor hugging her knees. He felt sorry and lightly hurt for her. It had been just about a year earlier when he was in her shoes after Alexandra had broken up with him and no matter how much he pleaded she wouldn’t take him back. He took a seat next to her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. “I’m sorry.” He whispered. “Thanks Daniel.” She tr...

Excerpt: Alexandra Hamilton Writes As Safia Moon

This was supposed to be the beginning of a small series. I began drafting the second part and that's where it is right now. Just wanted to share the beginning. This is where it all began! “The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say.”  -Anaïs Nin Chapter One: “Nothing is easy in this world…just never give up.” “The story was marvelous Alexandra; I have to say I’m quite inspired.” “Oh come on Tyler you don’t mean that.” “I absolutely do Alex and I already asked Mr. Ronald to publish one of your stories. I want to see if other people can connect to the stories in the level that I have. It may sound silly to you but I think they’re wonderful. You have a gift.” “I write these stories to express myself not because I think I have any kind of “gift” if you know what I mean. But sure as long as nobody knows who I am I don’t mind publishing some of them.” “You don’t want the readers to know who you are. Even better! I’ll be excit...

Excerpt: His Death

Completely unedited, this is something I wrote many years ago... I heard a knock on the door but choose to ignore it and continued sleeping. I had been like this for three weeks now I had not seen or called anyone.  Melanie and Adam had tried calling me thousands of times but I didn’t pick up and when I got tired of hearing my phone ring I shut it off. I really wasn’t in the mood to hear people say “I’m sorry” over and over again. I had enough with the day of the funeral.  Landon my brother wouldn’t leave my side he thought I was going to commit suicide or something but I knew better. As much as I loved Elliot I wasn’t going to kill myself. He always told me that no matter what I had to go on living with or without him and though right now I wasn’t in the best of moods to go on living I knew that eventually I had to but not right now. All I could think about right now was Elliot and how much I missed him; I wanted him to hold me now and forever. I missed everything abou...

Excerpt: The Key Part Two

The Key (part two) I had been walking for a couple of miles. I didn’t have a home and so my life consisted of hitch hiking and walking around places in hope of finding a place to rest for the night. As I walked along the empty and lonely road a car approached me. “Need a ride? It’s dark out here and it’s dangerous.” “Yeah, can you drop me off eh...?” I searched in the map and not far from here there was a small town. “…this town” I pointed to the small town on the map and waited for him to take a look at it. “Is that alright?” “Yeah, come on.” Usually I knew better than to get in cars that a man was driving but I didn’t think I would catch another ride tonight. Usually at night it was difficult to find a women driving. “So what’s a pretty girl like you doing out here?” “I’m looking for…”I usually told everyone the same story. I was trying to get home. But with this key around my neck I felt different. I felt like I needed to find the door to which this key belonged. I grabbed...
