Excerpt: The Threat Original Draft

Another excerpt from "The Threat" the first version of it anyways. Timothy came running and dragged us inside the house locking the doors and windows behind us. “Nobody can be outside tonight, not one single person.” “But…”I swallowed hard. “All those people hanging from the trees…” “We don’t know what happened.” He said. “They were there this morning when we woke up. We think it’s happening again. They are trying to get rid of us.” “What are we going to do?” Ally-Lyn asked. “We need to warn the king what’s going on. Even if we are outcasts we are still his people. He has intervene to save us before, I’m sure he can do it again.” “Why would he protect us?” I asked. “He is the reason why we are here.” “No, that priest is.” Ally-Lyn corrected. “Now that I’m working in another town I find out a lot of information. I’m reading a few books that explain the law we follow. It makes no sense.” “I am reading up on it too.” Timothy smiled at her. For a moment there...

Robin Williams

"No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world." RIP Robin Williams. 1951-2014.

Book: Divergent

I saw the movie first, had I done any research at all I would've known it was based on a book. This is my first time watching the movie first then reading the book. It's not a bad experience except that you  can't let your own imagination run wild because you already have an idea of how the scenes and characters look like. But you can easily catch the differences between the book and the movie. They are both great and it's an easy read. I'm almost done with the book and I started reading it just two weeks ago! I'm a fan! The character development is great for Tris. I really like Four or Tobias as his real name is, he has a very strong personality.  I specially think the idea of this book is very unique. I definitely can't wait to continue reading the series and watching the movies!

Random Thought

Kindergarden @ Gun Hill RD Yesterday I was thinking about the first school I went to when I came to the United States. It was a kindergarden school in Gun Hill Road. I was placed in a monolingual classroom and I couldn't speak a word in English. This must've been 19 or 20 years ago. My teacher was a blonde white woman and was never able to communicate one word to me. But there was another teacher; I don't remember her name, I can just remember her frizzy long dark brown hair and light skin face. I remember her always wearing some dark lipstick probably the dark brown that was quite popular in the 90's. She was so wonderful to me. The first thing she taught me was the ABC's in English. She helped me when I was in trouble, guided me in the classroom, kept me company when I felt alone and wiped my tears when I cried. My mother wasn't in this country and the only person I had to really count on was my sister. My sister being 3 years older than I was, was in the...

Excerpt: "Bestfriend"

I found this old excerpt in my sister's computer. The story is title "Bestfriend" but I sincerely can't remember how this one was going to go. Alexandra took a seat beside Sander. There was something obviously bothering him tonight. “Do you want to talk about it?” Why did she bother asking him? He never opened up to her about anything. Even though they were married for three years, he didn’t trust her. He sighed. “No.” Alexandra noticed their son Lucas in the distance talking to her father Frederick.   He wasn’t necessarily the fatherly type. Frederick was all about work but tonight he wanted to spend time with his grandson. “Well…I’ll be with Lucas.” “Do you love me?” Sander asked suddenly. Alexandra stopped and thought about it for just a second.   Did she love Sander? She never thought about it. “Yeah…” She turned around to face him. “Why?” “I heard what your father said to you tonight. You didn’t say anything back and I was wondering if you agreed...
